It really did happen and 12 older athletes (plus their older photographer) got to strut their stuff in Glasgow. Did I enjoy myself? You bet your life I did! My pictures were on the fencing at Kelvingrove Bandstand. It was a really busy part of Kelvin Way, with lots of people queueing up to get into the Bowls area and also to join in the fun in the Bandstand where there was continuous really fabulous entertainment as well as live screens showing the sporting action. The atmosphere was amazing; everyone was smiling and I couldn’t resist standing in front of the pictures and imitating the poses. It was incredibly hot for the 4 days I was in Glasgow and I shall forever think of the city as a place with the friendliest, smiliest people and a climate verging on the tropical.
